Who we are

Our mission

Denison Forum equips Christians to think critically and biblically about today’s news and cultural issues so they can live faithfully and serve intentionally to cultivate flourishing communities. Through The Daily Article and a growing ecosystem of content, we provide trusted, biblical insight that helps believers discern current events without fear or partisanship, and respond with Christlike clarity, conviction, and hope.

We call this a new kind of news: news that forms disciples rather than fueling division.

Our vision

We envision a day when Christians engage the news not with fear or outrage but with wisdom, faith, and courage. In a culture where algorithms, talking points, and partisan agendas disciple many, Denison Forum serves as a trusted news alternative, a place where news is discerned differently. We are not here to mirror the media landscape but to model something better: hope-driven insight, practical theology, and truth told in love. This is a new kind of news, anchored in Scripture, shaped by Christ, and offered for the good of the church and the world.

Our values: Biblical. Accessible. Relevant.

  1. Biblical clarity – Every piece of content is grounded in Scripture, not partisan agendas.
  2. Accessibility – Available anytime, anywhere, on any device.
  3. Relevance – Timely and connected to current events and cultural trends.
  4. Truth with love – We speak the truth with love, avoiding fear, outrage, or clickbait.
  5. Hope over hype – We don’t just report events; we point to the hope of Christ in the midst of them.
  6. Formation over partisanship – Our goal is to form disciples, not culture warriors.
  7. Unity in diversity – While Dr. Jim Denison’s voice anchors our work, we bring together a chorus of diverse, faithful voices to serve the church.
  8. Mission-driven innovation – We adapt our methods, across email, podcasts, video, social, and more, so long as they serve the mission of equipping and discipling believers.
  9. Integrity and trust – From editorial standards to financial transparency, we commit to honesty and accountability in all we do.

Our story

Founded in 2009 in Dallas, Texas, by Dr. Jim Denison and Jeff Byrd, Denison Forum began with a team of three and a bold vision: to spark spiritual awakening by helping believers engage the news of the day through a biblical lens. What started small has grown into a global conversation; each month, Denison Forum sees an average of 2 million emails opened, 90,000 podcast downloads across our three podcasts, and 1.3 million engagements over social media. As part of Denison Ministries, alongside First15, Christian Parenting, Foundations and The Chapel at PK, Denison Forum continues to call believers to think critically, live faithfully, and serve intentionally to cultivate flourishing communities.

Our guiding principles

Every day, we are flooded with more headlines, opinions, and breaking alerts than we can ever process. For many Christians, this constant stream fuels anxiety instead of anchoring us in truth. The modern news model thrives on outrage and fear, leaving believers confused, weary, and spiritually undernourished.

This is why we exist. Denison Forum offers a trusted voice that interprets the day’s events through the timeless truth of God’s Word. We believe news can be redeemed, not only to inform but to inspire with conviction, clarity, and hope.

We are building a new kind of news: a hub that not only informs believers but forms them spiritually.

These guiding principles shape every word we write and every perspective we offer.

  • We take responsibility for every article, holding ourselves to Scripture first and the highest standards of integrity and accuracy because words shape hearts and minds.
  • We explain the news through the lens of Scripture: Every piece of content we produce pairs cultural insight with biblical application so readers not only understand current events but also grow in faith and Christlike living.
  • We are committed to addressing the issues of our day without political agenda or partisanship, striving instead for honesty, fairness, and clarity that reflect the character of Christ.
  • We pursue timeliness, not by chasing every headline but by focusing on the issues and patterns that uncover deeper biblical concerns and cultural trends.
  • We elevate diverse, real voices while ensuring every article reflects biblical truth, clarity, and trustworthiness.
  • We ensure that every article aligns with the theological statement of Denison Ministries. Our work is rooted in an active faith in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit and shaped by the life of the local church.
  • We operate using a donor-funded financial model to provide free access to all our digital content because equipping believers to think biblically about the news is not just valuable but essential for the Church and for our witness in the world.

We are always seeking contributors who share our commitment to biblical clarity, humility, and spiritual formation. Help us redeem the news to inform minds and transform hearts. View our editorial guidelines and submit your work by emailing [email protected].

Editorial conduct

The Denison Forum editorial team seeks daily to discern the truth, verify its accuracy against God’s revelation in the Bible, and write in an objective and fair manner without conflicts of interest. We seek to be content creators who are compassionate people of biblical conviction who equip others through clarity, civility, and journalistic excellence.

  • We will create content and report on news and issues with an attitude of compassion, humility, and respect, even when covering challenging or controversial figures and topics. We will avoid sensationalism, personal attacks, and undue hostility.
  • While reporting on difficult or negative news (e.g., suffering, injustice, or moral failure), we will strive to frame the events through the lens of Christian hope, redemptive action, or the call to ministry and prayer. We will avoid content that profits solely from despair or morbid curiosity.
  • We will maintain professionalism with all sources in person, on social media, and when doing research.
  • We are a nonpartisan and nonsectarian media ministry. We will seek to be fair and balanced to all sides represented in the stories or issues we communicate about.
  • If a person or organization is being accused of something, or is being portrayed in a strong negative light, we will contact or research them to seek their viewpoint before publication.
  • We will remain self-aware and transparent, clearly noting in our content whenever our personal experiences may introduce bias.
  • Content creators will use language and select imagery that is respectful, modest, and appropriate for a Christian audience. Graphic, gratuitous, or unnecessarily provocative content is forbidden.
  • While we strive to get it right the first time, if a mistake happens, we will be transparent and note all corrections at the top of the article.
  • We will never falsify any part of our news and will always provide attribution to others if they are the source of our information.
  • We will strive to be responsive to our audience in a timely manner. We encourage comments, questions, and humble criticism of our work.

How we use (and don’t use) artificial intelligence

AI is reshaping how organizations produce and share information. At Denison Forum, our calling is to interpret the day’s news through a biblical lens and help believers think critically and redemptively about culture. That mission depends on integrity, accuracy, and trust.

Our commitment to human-centered, Spirit-led work

Every article, devotional, video, and podcast we produce is written and reviewed by people. Our editors and writers prayerfully engage Scripture and current events to create content that encourages spiritual formation and cultural discernment.

How we use AI

While our published words come from people, we recognize that certain tools can make our workflows more efficient and give our team more time to focus on spiritual and editorial depth. We use AI in a few limited, behind-the-scenes ways, always under human oversight and never as a substitute for biblical discernment or editorial judgment.

AI tools may help us:

  • Transcribe and summarize meetings or interviews to confirm details and quotes.
  • Organize and tag content within our archives to improve searchability and consistency.
  • Create accessibility features such as alt text for images and basic metadata.
  • Sort or scan large documents (like studies, reports, or public data) to help our writers identify relevant information more efficiently.
  • Brainstorm or refine ideas, including suggesting headline options, newsletter subject lines, or smoother phrasing, always reviewed by our editorial team.
  • Adapt human-written spiritual content for different formats or platforms, always under editorial review to preserve intent, tone, and theological accuracy.
  • Draft preliminary marketing and fundraising materials. Some of our marketing and fundraising emails may begin with AI-generated drafts, but every message is reviewed, edited, and approved by our team before it’s sent.

Our editors may consider AI-generated suggestions, but every final decision, word, headline, and email is written, reviewed, and approved by people who are accountable for what we publish.

What we don’t do

  • We do not use AI to write articles, commentary, books, or devotionals.
  • We do not create or alter images of people or real events using AI.
  • We do not upload confidential, donor, or sensitive data to AI platforms.
  • We do not rely on AI to determine truth, theological interpretation, or tone.

Why this matters

Our readers trust Denison Forum to offer biblical insight on today’s news and culture. That trust is sacred to us. AI can be a helpful tool, but it will never replace the discernment, prayer, and wisdom that define our work. Every piece we publish reflects the thought and conviction of real people striving to be faithful to Scripture.

Looking ahead

As technology evolves, we will continue evaluating new tools through the same lens we apply to everything we do: biblical truth, integrity, and transparency. If a future use of AI ever directly shapes something our readers experience, we will disclose it clearly.

Bottom line: At Denison Forum, AI supports our work, but it never defines our work. Our content is, and always will be, written by people who seek to serve God by serving his people.

How we sustain the mission

When Denison Forum began in 2009, God provided two donors to fund a single newsletter reaching seven thousand readers. Today, hundreds of thousands of people are engaging with our newsletters, articles, podcasts, videos, and social media content every day.

This growth is both a gift and a responsibility. Building a new kind of news that’s biblically faithful, nonpartisan, and spiritually formative requires people, resources, and investment. That’s why we invite believers to support the mission financially. Denison Forum, a brand of Denison Ministries, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

We take the trust of our donors seriously. Every gift fuels real experiences with God. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of financial integrity, including third-party research, to ensure transparency and fairness.

Denison Forum is 100 percent donor funded. We don’t charge subscription fees, we aren’t beholden to advertisers, we don’t require memberships, and we don’t place any of our online content behind paywalls because we believe the truth that shapes culture should always remain free and accessible to everyone. Every article you read, every podcast you hear, and every video that points someone to Jesus exists because of the generosity of our donors.

And the impact is real: millions of monthly engagements, hundreds of thousands of resources read, and growing communities across every platform. Yet our calling is more than reach: It is to form a movement of culture-changing Christians who do not react to the news with fear or outrage, but who respond with clarity, conviction, and Christlike hope.Together, we are building a new kind of news: truth without fear, commentary without partisanship, and insight that points people to Jesus.

Our theological foundation

Statement of faith

Denison Forum, a brand of Denison Ministries, is an interdenominational organization. Our nonsectarian identity causes some to ask what we believe. The following faith statement is intended to clarify our theological commitments.

One of the earliest declarations of faith in Christian history is the Apostles’ Creed. Forms of it are used today by Catholics, Anglicans, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Methodists, and many nondenominational churches. Its name comes from the early tradition that each of the twelve apostles dictated part of it after Pentecost. As a result, the statement is traditionally divided into twelve articles. Our ministry affirms each assertion:

  1. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,

There is only one God (Deut. 6:4). He is our Father (Matt. 6:9) and reigns over the universe as the Lord Almighty (Rev. 4:2–11). He created all that exists as Father (Gen. 1:1), Son (John 1:3; Col. 1:16–17), and Spirit (Gen. 1:2).

  1. and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.

Jesus means Savior (Matt. 1:21), the one who came “to seek and to save what was lost” (Luke 19:10 NABRE). Christ means Messiah (John 1:41), the one anointed by God to rule the nations (Ps. 2:1–9). He is God’s only Son (Matt. 3:17; 16:16). He is Lord, our Master and King (Rev. 22:20). He came to inaugurate the kingdom of God (Matt. 4:17), and will consummate it at his return (Rev. 19:16). He calls us to extend his kingdom (Matt. 10:7) by leading all people (Matt. 28:19; Acts 1:8) to make him their King.

  1. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.

Jesus chose to leave heaven for earth (Phil. 2:6–7) to be conceived physically by the power of the Holy Spirit in the body of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:34–35). His incarnation was the miracle by which he became Immanuel, “God with us” (Matt. 1:23).

  1. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.

Jesus’s physical life and death (Luke 23:46) are documented by the Scriptures, and by Roman and Jewish historians as well. He came to be “the atoning sacrifice for our sins” (1 John 2:2 NIV), dying in our place (2 Cor. 5:21) to pay the penalty for our sins and purchase our salvation (Rom. 5:8–9).

  1. On the third day he rose again from the dead.

Jesus’s physical resurrection (Matt. 28:1–10) is the miracle which proves his divinity (1 Cor. 15:12–20). He rose again as he promised (Matt. 16:21), proving that God’s word is authoritative (Matt. 28:18), trustworthy (Matt. 5:18) and relevant today (2 Tim. 3:16–17). His resurrection was the central affirmation of early Christian preaching (Acts 2:29–33; 17:31).

  1. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father.

Jesus’s ascension (Acts 1:9) further proved his divinity. He is now “at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us” (Rom. 8:34 NIV).

  1. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

As Jesus ascended to heaven, so he will return visibly to earth again one day (Acts 1:10–11). Christians do not know when Jesus will return (Matt. 24:36), so we must be ready for him to come today (Luke 12:40).

  1. I believe in the Holy Spirit,

The Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:4, 9). He indwells every believer at salvation (Rom. 8:18; 1 Cor. 3:16). His gifts for ministry (1 Cor. 12:28–29; Rom. 12:6–8; Eph. 4:11–13) are still operative today. We are called to submit to his leadership and seek his power for service every day (Eph. 5:18).

  1. the holy Christian church, the communion of saints,

The church was founded by Jesus (Matt. 16:18) and is his body for ministry today (1 Cor. 12:27). All believers (1 Cor. 12:13) from all time (Heb. 12:1) are part of the universal church.

  1. the forgiveness of sins,

We are saved by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8–9). Salvation is a gift from God (Rom. 6:23). We must each receive this gift personally (John 3:3) by confessing our sins to God (Prov. 28:13) with repentance (Acts 3:19; 2 Cor. 7:10), asking Jesus to forgive them (Luke 11:4) and trusting in him as our Lord and Master (Rom. 10:13).

When we make this commitment to Jesus, he makes us a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17) and holds us in his hand forever (John 10:28). As believers, we must continue to confess our sins to God and seek his forgiving grace (1 John 1:8–10). Since the results of sin are death (Rom. 6:23), those who refuse God’s offer of salvation in Christ are separated from him forever in hell (John 3:18; Rev. 20:15).

  1. the resurrection of the body,

Jesus’s resurrection assures us of eternal life with him (1 Cor. 15:22). Believers never die (John 11:25–26). At the moment of physical death, we are instantly united with Jesus in paradise (Luke 23:43).

  1. and life everlasting.

Christians will spend eternity with God in imperishable bodies (1 Cor. 15:42–44, 53–55), worshipping him forever (Rev. 5:13). Jesus came to give us abundant life now (John 10:10) and eternal life with him in heaven (John 14:1–3).These statements constitute “the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints” (Jude 3 NET). They form the theological foundation for all our ministry does to extend God’s kingdom around the world (Hab. 2:14).

The future of Denison Forum

A new kind of news

We’re realigning, not reinventing. Our mission stays the same, but our reach, platforms, and voices are expanding to meet believers in a noisy, divided world. We are building a new kind of news: not just information, but spiritual formation.

One anchor, many voices. The Daily Article and Dr. Jim Denison remain at our foundation, while new writers, scholars, and emerging leaders will expand our offerings. Together we bring truth without fear, commentary without partisanship, and clarity that points to Christ.

Multiplatform by design. Email for depth. Podcasts for nuance. Video for discovery. Social for shareability. A refreshed website for trust. Every channel serves the same goal: helping believers discern the news differently.

Hope-driven, not click-driven. When others push fear, we offer formation. When others stir division, we cultivate discernment. When others exploit outrage, we inspire obedience.

The signal, not the noise. We won’t mirror the media, we’ll model something better: Clarifying culture without condemning it. Forming Jesus-followers, not culture warriors. Calling people to hope, not headlines.

This is who we’re becoming. This is a new kind of news.
