About Dr. Jim Denison
Jim Denison, PhD, is an author, speaker, and the CEO of Denison Ministries, which is transforming 6.8 million lives through meaningful digital content.
Dallas-based Denison Ministries includes DenisonForum.org, First15.org, ChristianParenting.org, and FoundationsWithJanet.org. Dr. Denison speaks biblically into significant cultural issues at DenisonForum.org and DrJimDenison.com, as well as on radio, TV, podcasts, and social media. Dr. Denison speaks approximately 25 times per year at events, seminars, and churches and is a frequent guest on radio and television programs.
He is the author of over 30 books, including:
- The Coming Tsunami: Why Christians Are Labeled Intolerant, Irrelevant, Oppressive, and Dangerous—and How We Can Turn the Tide
- Respectfully, I Disagree: How to Be a Civil Person in an Uncivil Time
- Biblical Insight to Tough Questions series, a ten-volume set
He has taught the philosophy of religion and apologetics at several seminaries. Dr. Denison serves as Resident Scholar for Ethics with Baylor Scott & White Health, where he addresses issues such as genetic medicine and reproductive science.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also received an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Dallas Baptist University. Dr. Denison is the Theologian in Residence for the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Prior to launching Denison Forum in 2009, he pastored churches in Texas and Georgia.
Jim and his wife, Janet, live in Dallas, Texas. They have two married sons and four grandchildren.
About Dr. Mark Turman
Dr. Mark Turman is the Executive Director of Denison Forum and Senior Contributor for Leadership.
Mark is from Tyler, Texas. Raised as a child in the Catholic Church, Mark made a personal commitment to faith in Christ at seventeen through the witness of the Bible and two friends.
He soon joined Green Acres Baptist Church, where he was discipled and responded to a call to ministry.
After thirty-four years pastoring four churches in Texas, including twenty-five years as the founding pastor of Crosspoint Church in McKinney, he became Executive Director of Denison Forum and Senior Contributor for Leadership in October 2021.
Mark’s vision is to partner with Dr. Jim Denison and the ministry team to deepen a transformational connection with believers, and especially to pastors and church leaders.
As Denison Forum continues to develop culture-changing Christians, our hope is to encourage, edify, and equip the equippers who are leading local churches.
He holds a D.Min. from Truett Seminary, an M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a BA from Howard Payne University.
Mark and Judi married in 1986. They have two adult children and two grandchildren. In his free time, Mark enjoys golf, boating, and landscaping.
