The Denison Forum Book Club recommends ‘Jesus Skeptic: A Journalist Explores the Credibility and Impact of Christianity’

Steve Yount, a senior fellow with the Denison Forum, is a former newspaper editor and public-relations executive working with Christian ministries.

Jesus Skeptic: A Journalist Explores the Credibility and Impact of Christianity would be a wonderful gift for anyone exploring the Christian faith.

Even if you have been a Christian for years, you will learn a lot from author John S. Dickerson’s ten-year investigation into the evidence for Christ and his influence over the past two thousand years.

Dickerson, the lead pastor at Connection Pointe Christian Church in the Indianapolis area, has a journalism degree and worked as a newspaper reporter while he was attending seminary. He uses the techniques of an investigative reporter while addressing fundamental questions about Jesus’ existence and the impact of the movement he created.

“What became clear to me in my research is that Jesus not only lived, but also that he is without a doubt among the most influential humans to ever live, period,” Dickerson writes. In concluding the book, he notes that his relationship with Jesus “has brought me consistent identity, security, purpose, fulfillment, peace and joy that I never experienced anywhere else in this world.”

Jesus Skeptic will answer many of the key questions posed by seekers who have not yet accepted Christ as their savior.
