Message from Jim
Thank you for reading our September newsletter. We are excited to share some of the stories of God's grace and provision for our ministry.
One of the ways God has affirmed our calling over the last four years has been through his financial provision. We are entirely donor-based, depending on the gifts of God's people to fund our work. As we have grown from 7,000 subscribers to almost 85,000 readers in 181 countries, the Lord has led our supporters to meet our financial needs. We are grateful every day to him and to those who partner with us through their generosity.
On September 19, the Denison Forum is taking part in North Texas Giving Day, an annual fundraising event that has raised more than $34.4 million for nonprofits in our community over four years. We are excited to join this effort to increase awareness and funding for nonprofit organizations in North Texas.
For North Texas Giving Day, the Denison Forum has received a generous anonymous pledge to match the first $25,000 given to our ministry on a dollar for dollar basis. In addition, the Communities Foundation of Texas has raised $1.6 million in bonus and prize funds; every gift over $25 given online through donorbridgetx.org between 7 am and midnight on September 19 will receive a portion of these bonus funds. We are also eligible to win several prizes, which can be seen on the DonorBridge website.
A gift of $25 will enable the Cultural Commentary to grow by 10 new subscribers. On September 19, look for the Giving Day banner in the daily Cultural Commentary and on our website to give through our DonorBridge profile.
Please continue to pray for us that we would fulfill our call to influence the culture with biblical truth. It is a privilege to share this ministry with you each day.
Did You Know?
- Pray for Syria and for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6).
- As we enter into the fall season and the busyness that comes with it, pray that your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ would accept Jesus' invitation:
Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest
-- Mark 6:31
And know that he wants intimacy with you, for he made you for himself.
